A handwritten bomb threat note has been discovered at the Vistara flight which had departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on Sunday, following which a full emergency was declared at the Mumbai airport.

According to the sources, the threat was reported by the crew members at 10:08 am on the flight which was carrying 294 passengers and 12 crew members on board. Soon after reporting the incident, the plane was safely landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport.

"We confirm that a security concern has been noted by our staff while onboard Vistara flight UK 024 operating from Paris to Mumbai on June 2, 2024," a Vistara Airlines spokesperson said in a statement confirming the incident.

"Following the protocol, we notified the appropriate authorities right away. The airplane has touched down at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, and we are working closely with the security services to complete all necessary inspections,” the spokesperson continued.

It is worth noting that this bomb threat came just a day after the Indigo flight from Varanasi to New Delhi received the bomb threat which later turned out to be a hoax. According to police officials, the call for the bomb threat was from a female in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, who claimed that her husband was carrying a bomb in his bag. But later after questioning him, it was found that the woman was mentally unfit.
