In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, the local administration has taken decisive action following a violent clash between two groups over a plot dispute on June 22. The altercation, which involved a significant exchange of gunfire, has led to strict measures against the accused parties.

Initially, the authorities targeted the illegal properties of Rajiv Rana, the main accused from one group. A bulldozer was deployed to demolish his hotel and shop. Following this, the focus shifted to Aditya Upadhyay, the accused from the opposing group. His luxurious Sanwariya Resort has now been demolished.

Administrative Crackdown

Reports indicate that an order to demolish Upadhyay's resort had been issued previously, but no action had been taken until the recent incident. After Upadhyay was implicated in the June 22 shooting, the administration moved quickly. On June 28, the Bareilly Development Authority (BDA), supported by a heavy police presence, executed the demolition of the resort.

Evidence and Repercussions

Aditya Upadhyay was recorded firing shots at Rajiv Rana's men with his licensed firearm, a video of which surfaced online. This evidence prompted immediate action. The police administration and BDA teams arrived with bulldozers and excavators at the Sanwariya Resort on Dohra Road, demolishing the structure amidst tight security. Officials stated that the resort's construction violated BDA standards, and the demolition followed a duly issued notice.

During the demolition, Upadhyay's family protested, claiming they had not been notified beforehand. Despite their objections, the police proceeded with the demolition.

June 22 Incident

The violent clash on June 22 involved a fierce gunfight between the groups of Rajiv Rana and Aditya Upadhyay over a plot on Pilibhit Bypass in Bareilly. The confrontation, marked by open firing, arson, vandalism, and stone-pelting, created widespread panic and raised serious concerns about law and order in the city. The administration swiftly called for a detailed report on the incident.

Since then, the Bareilly police administration has been proactive in addressing the issue. The demolition of Rajiv Rana's properties on Thursday was followed by today's action against Aditya Upadhyay's resort, underscoring the administration's commitment to maintaining order and enforcing legal standards.
