After Porsche incident, Pune witnesses another hit-and-run, two killed

Amid controversies surrounding the Porsche car accident which claimed the lives of two engineers, Pune witnesses another hit-and-run. According to the sources, another incident rocked the city on Monday night and has claimed two lives. As per police officials, the truck knocked two students and tried to flee from the spot, but chased in a short time.

The incident happened at Pune’s Chandan Nagar, when two engineering students were riding on a bike and a speeding truck hit the duo from behind. One youth died on the spot while the other one succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The students were on the way to the railway station on Pune-Ahmednagar Road.

With the help of locals, the police nabbed the truck driver from 300 meters away from the accident spot. The case has been registered against the accused under the sections of Indian Penal Code Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and other relevant sections.

It is worth noting that the incident has surfaced days after a 17-year-old knocked down two engineers, which ignited outrage among people after he was given bail within hours of the incident. The teen's father is now behind bars and the teen is in Juvenile Justice Home; the case has been investigated by the police. The police have also arrested the grandfather of the accused for coercing their driver to take the blame for the accident.
