After Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi set to begin 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' from Jan 14

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to launch a similar outreach initiative from the northeastern state of Manipur, following in the footsteps of his previous Bharat Jodo Yatra. The 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' is slated to begin on January 14 and end in Mumbai on March 20, as announced on Wednesday during a press conference by Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal.

According to the information, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to travel 6,200 kilometres from Manipur to Mumbai as a result of his Bharat Jodo Yatra, which connected Kashmir with Kanyakumari and was largely attributed by the party for their electoral wins in Telangana and Karnataka.

The Yatra will cover 14 states and 85 districts, which includes a traverse a route through the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and finally Maharashtra.

The general secretary also revealed that this time yatra will be carried by the leaders in bus, but expected to walk at certain sections of the route.

"On December 21, Congress workers gave opinion that Rahul Gandhi should start Yatra from East to West. Rahul Gandhi also agreed to fulfil the wishes of CWC" Venugopal added.

He also disclosed that the yatra will be flagged off by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. It is to be noted here that the yatra has come during a period where the camapigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha election is also expected to pick up.

Bharat Jodo Yatra

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which started in Kanyakumari on September 7 2022 was led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, concluded on January 30 2023 in Srinagar after covering 3,970 km, 12 states, and two Union territories and having lasted more than 130 days.
