The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) announced on Tuesday that the price of milk will increase from June 26. However, there is a bright side for the customers as well. KMF stated that it will increase the quantity of milk by 50 milliliters in its half-liter and one-liter packets. Against this backdrop, the price of each packet is being increased by 2 rupees. Consumers will receive an additional 50 milliliters of milk in half-liter (500 ml) and one-liter (1000 ml) packets. Currently, the price of a 500-milliliter packet of toned milk from the Nandini brand is Rs 22. With the increase of Rs 2 per liter, the price of a 550-milliliter milk packet will now be Rs 24. Similarly, the price of a 1000 milliliter (1 liter) packet was previously Rs 42, and it will now be Rs 44 for a 1050 milliliter packet. Other categories of milk under the Nandini brand will also see price increases.KMFs statement put a strong emphasis on the fact the Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers Federation stands as the second-largest dairy federation in India. For the past 50 years, the cooperative has been buying and processing milk from over 2.7 million dairy farmers in Karnataka through its members in the milk union, providing their customers with a huge range of milk and related products under the name of Nandini brand.
