A 55-year-old Tantrik has been arrested for repeatedly raping a woman on the pretext of solving domestic problems in Maharashtras Thane district. The accused Tantrik had made an objectionable video of the woman. With the help of which he used to blackmail the woman. Police are finding out how many such women he has sexually exploited so far. However, the investigation of the entire matter is going on.Giving information about this, a senior Thane Police officer told PTI that the accused Tantrik has been identified as Santosh Poddar alias Vinod Pandit. The police team has arrested him from Shanti Nagar area of Mira Road.Know full matterThe police officer further told in this case that the accused who claimed to be a Tantrik used to work in this area and used to advertise on Facebook. Due to which the victim had approached the vicious Santosh Poddar alias Vinod Pandit in search of solution to some domestic problems. One day he raped her on the pretext of curing her and the accused also shot her objectionable video. After this the accused started threatening the victim woman. He blackmailed her and kept raping her for several days. According to the police officer, fed up with the harassment of the evil Tantrik, the woman contacted the police earlier this week and narrated her entire ordeal to the police.Police action in this matterOn the basis of the complaint received by the police, on Wednesday, sections 376 (2) (n) of the IPC (repeated rape of the same woman), section 506 (criminal intimidation) and Maharashtra Human Sacrifice were registered against the accused Santosh Poddar alias Vinod Pandit. A case has been registered under other relevant provisions of the Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Prevention and Eradication Act, 2013. Police registered a case on his complaint and arrested the accused Santosh Poddar alias Vinod Pandit. Police are now investigating to find out whether the accused had exploited other women in a similar manner. The accused is also being interrogated.
