New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra today targeted the Central Government in Parliament, raising concerns over the influence of Gautam Adani and the role of the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED). Moitra demanded that the budget for the ED and CBI be slashed to zero, accusing these agencies of operating under Adanis direction. She sarcastically suggested reallocating their budget entirely to Adani. Moitra also alleged that Adanis relative threatened her friend into signing documents under duress.Allegations Against ED and CBIMoitra highlighted that this years budget for the ED and CBI had been reduced. She questioned whether this was due to public disapproval of their actions against opposition leaders or if the agencies had been effectively outsourced to an Ahmedabad businessman. Moitra cited the former Home Minister of Maharashtra, who alleged that BJP leaders pressured him to file a false affidavit. She also referenced the Sandeshkhali case, where videos shared by women were found to be fake.Moitra shared a personal incident, stating, On October 16, 2023, Adani called my friend to his Ahmedabad office, threatening him with severe consequences if he did not sign a false affidavit. Adanis son-in-law, Cyril Shroff, was the one who forced him to sign. She claimed that mid-level officers in Adanis office routinely instructed CBI officers to alter statements and make false accusations against her.Moitra urged Parliament to reduce the CBI and ED budgets to zero, suggesting that Adani should fund these agencies entirely. She stated, Do not call people repeatedly on Adanis orders. Do not try to trap me you will achieve nothing. We should cut the CBI and ED budgets to zero and let Adani handle the entire 1500 crore budget.Mahua Moitras Alleged Connection with AdaniMoitra has faced accusations of accepting money from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to raise questions in Parliament. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey alleged that Moitra took bribes to defame the Adani Group and PM Modi. Hiranandani later turned government witness and admitted to using Moitras login ID.
