The Mann government has taken a significant step in making healthcare services accessible and affordable for the general public through the ‘Aam Admi Clinic' initiative. Under this scheme, Aam Admi Clinics have been established across the state, providing basic medical services to local residents near their homes. This initiative has proven highly beneficial, especially for the economically weaker sections.

Facilities at Aam Admi Clinics

Aam Admi Clinics offer free treatment, medical tests, and medicines. These clinics are staffed with experienced doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who provide diagnosis and treatment for patients. The main aim of this initiative is to reduce the crowding in major hospitals and make healthcare services easily accessible to the public.

What do people say?

People who visited a Aam Admi Clinic, expressed her gratitude to the Punjab government, stating that now people don’t need to travel to the city for medicines. Earlier, it was difficult for elderly people to visit the city, but now all essential medical services are available in the village itself. Similarly, elderly woman Harbans Kaur shared that she used to have to travel out of the village for treatment, which was challenging. Now, medicines and diagnostic services are easily available at the Aam Admi Clinic.

Millions have benefited so far

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Aam Admi Clinics are serving as a cornerstone for improving the state's healthcare system. So far, millions of patients have benefited from these clinics. Medicines worth over ₹40 crores have been provided, and over 19 lakh tests have been conducted at these clinics, costing several crores.

Plan for the future

The Punjab government plans to expand this initiative by establishing more Aam Admi Clinics in every city and village over the coming years. This will not only increase access to healthcare services but also simplify the resolution of people's health issues.
