New Delhi: A horrifying crime has shocked the Karimganj district of Assam, where a 37-year-old man brutally murdered his elderly parents and broadcast the act live on Facebook. The gruesome incident, which has left the community and authorities in disbelief, occurred on Sunday around 2:30 pm in Brahmanshasan village.The accused, identified as Abdul Haleem, reportedly attacked his parents following a heated argument. He first assaulted them and then proceeded to slit their throats with a sharp weapon, capturing the entire event on a live social media feed. The live-streamed video left viewers horrified, and even the police were shaken by the brutality of the act.Arrest and investigationPolice from Karimganjs Neelambazar station were alerted to the crime and arrested Abdul Haleem later that evening. We have registered a case, and further investigation is underway, the officer said.Abdul was detained under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code and is set to be presented in court following the completion of the preliminary investigation.
