New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, featuring 67 names out of 90 constituencies. However, Shashi Ranjan Parmar, a former BJP MLA, was overcome with emotion during an interview after being excluded from the list.

Parmar, who had hoped to represent Bhiwani and Tosham, tearfully expressed his disappointment, saying, "I thought my name would be on the list." Despite attempts to comfort him, Parmar continued to lament, questioning the party’s decisions.

Emotional reaction after being denied ticket

During a live interview, Parmar could not hold back his tears when discussing his exclusion from the BJP’s candidate list. The emotional moment unfolded as Parmar revealed his expectations of securing a ticket. "I assured my supporters that my name was being considered," he said, before breaking down. The interviewer attempted to console him, urging Parmar to stay strong for his followers, but the former MLA remained visibly upset.

"I am in so much pain," Parmar lamented, expressing his confusion over the party’s decision. His emotional outburst has sparked widespread attention as the state prepares for the polls on October 5, with results set to be declared on October 8.

Haryana assembly election timeline

The filing of nominations will end on September 12, followed by scrutiny on September 13. Candidates have until September 16 to withdraw their nominations.
