The Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant and Union Minister Shiprad Y Naik Launched The Chief Ministers Financial Assistance for Refiling of LPG Cylinders Scheme in Panaji on Friday, September 1. Recently the Prime Minister of India had announced to provide Rs 200 subsidy of LPG cylinders. Goa CM said that the state has gone a step further and will give an additional Rs 275 per month for AAY Ration Card holders. AAY which stands for Antyodaya Anna Yojana has over 11,000 people in it and will get a subsidy of Rs 475 from the government.“PM Modi earlier announced providing a Rs 200 subsidy for LPG cylinders. Union Minister Shirpad Y Naik, Minister Ravi Naik, and others attended this launch on Friday. The CM further stressed on giving subsidies to AAY Ration Card holders. The Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) caters to the poorest of the poor families.“In addition to that getting inspired by the PM we had announced an additional Rs 275 subsidy for the AAY Ration Card holders and today to distribute the sanction letter I have with me Union Minister Shirpad Y Naik, Minister Ravi Naik, and others. A subsidy of Rs 475 will be provided to them.”The subsidy of Rs 200 by the union government was given as a Raksha Bandhan gift from Modi to the women of this country and said that the subsidy would be of immediate effect, as per media reports.
