AAP's global 'mass fasting' today against Delhi Chief Minister's Arvind Kejriwal's arrest

It will start from Jantar Mantar in Delhi and AAP workers will also protest against the arrest by fasting in Shaheed Bhagat Singh's village Khatkhadkalan in Punjab.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has planned a mass fasting by its members on Sunday in support of jailed party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The fast is scheduled to commence at 11 AM. All AAP ministers, and councilors are expected to participate in the fast. 

Where they will protest? 

It will start from Jantar Mantar in Delhi and AAP workers will also protest against the arrest by fasting in Shaheed Bhagat Singh's village Khatkhadkalan in Punjab. AAP has called for a nationwide mass fast. MLAs, ministers, MPs, councilors, officials and workers will be included in this mass protest. 

Why they are protesting? 

The reason for the fast is to protest against the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwla in capital cities across all states.

To make this campaign successful, a WhatsApp number has also been issued by Aam Aadmi Party. AAP leader Gopal Rai said that wherever people in the country and the world are fasting in support of Kejriwal, they have been asked to send their photographs on WhatsApp number 7290037700. People must enter their name, details, location and name of the venue in this photo. 

Protest in foreign countries also

Gopal Rai told that there will be a mass fast in support of Arvind Kejriwal in the capitals of 25 states of the country as well as in foreign countries. These include Harvard Square in Boston, USA, Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles, Lake Elizabeth in San Francisco, Indian Embassy in Washington DC, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Plaza in Dallas, Texas, Times Square in New York, Brampton City Hall in Toronto, Canada, Melbourne People will observe a mass fast at Parliament Square in Federation Square, London.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, after a two-hour long questioning and raid at his Delhi residence in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail till April 15.
