Bihar: Panic has gripped Bihar's Nalanda district after a Class 9 student was kidnapped in broad daylight. The shocking incident took place in Ekangarsarai block’s Telhada market, where 13-year-old Aditya Raj was abducted by a group of criminals in a Bolero while he was on his way to coaching classes early Saturday morning around 5:30 AM.

Police have launched an investigation and are scanning CCTV footage from the market to track the suspects. Meanwhile, the student’s distraught family is desperately seeking answers.

Abduction caught locals off guard

Aditya Raj, a resident of Kesopur village, is the son of Nitish Mishra, a daily wage laborer. According to his father, Aditya left home for his coaching class as usual when a group of armed men, who were seemingly waiting in ambush near the water tank at Kesopur Chowk, forcibly pushed him into a Bolero and sped away.

“I received a call from an unknown person informing me that my son was taken away by a group of men in a vehicle. We rushed to the location, but by then, the criminals had already escaped,” said Aditya’s father, his voice shaking with anxiety.

Locals tried to intervene, but kidnappers escaped

Eyewitnesses revealed that when the boy screamed for help, some bystanders rushed towards the vehicle. However, the kidnappers managed to flee before anyone could take down the car’s registration number. Initial reports suggest the abductors may have headed toward Jehanabad.

As soon as the news broke, Telhada Police Station in-charge Rajesh Kumar Thakur, Ekangarsarai Police Station in-charge Akhilesh Kumar Jha, Inspector Shrikant, and DSP Sanjay Kumar from District Headquarters-Hilsa-2 rushed to the scene with their teams and initiated an extensive search operation.

No clues yet, police intensify investigation

DSP Sanjay Kumar confirmed that the kidnapping involved four to five armed men who forced Aditya into the vehicle and fled. “We have questioned teachers and students at High School Kesopur to gather any possible leads. However, as of now, we have not found any solid evidence regarding the kidnappers’ identity or motive. Our teams are working tirelessly to track down the culprits,” he added.

The shocking abduction has left the community in distress, with locals fearing for their children's safety. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their relentless pursuit of justice.
