Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed nine resolutions and requests to the Indian people while speaking at an event in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Monday.

What were the solutions PM Modi proposed?

  1. Prime Minister Modi urged all citizens to save water and spread awareness about water conservation. With rising temperatures and erratic monsoons, water scarcity is a huge concern. Modi emphasised on rainwater harvesting, revival of traditional water bodies, and reducing wastage.

  2. Citizens were requested to educate rural communities about digital payments and online transactions to boost digital adoption. This can improve financial inclusion and transparency. Volunteers can conduct camps and hands-on training sessions in villages.

  3. Another appeal focused on keeping local areas, cities and villages spick and span. PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Mission aims to achieve 100% cleanliness. People must properly dispose of waste and eliminate open defecation through public awareness and hygiene drives.

  4. In order to support local industry and businesses, the Prime Minister advocated buying Indian-manufactured goods as much as possible. Vocal for Local is a campaign to boost indigenous products over foreign ones. Consumers opting for domestic goods can help create jobs and self-reliance.

  5. Modi suggested that citizens tour within India extensively before vacationing abroad. There is immense cultural, geographical and historical diversity to explore pan-India. Travelling locally also helps the domestic tourism sector and saves foreign exchange reserves. He even humorously appealed to wealthy individuals to consider weddings within India.

  6. Chemical-free natural farming techniques that use organic inputs were recommended to farmers. This protects soil health and biodiversity while reducing input costs. People can help spread awareness through campaigns.

  7. He highlighted the nutritional benefits of milletts, promoting their inclusion in daily diets and advocating for their wider cultivation and consumption.

  8. Modi motivated the citizens to make exercise, yoga and sports integral to daily routines. This improves endurance, flexibility and quality of life, Modi said while highlighting the global popularity of yoga.

  9. In order to uplift living standards, PM Modi appealed for financially stable households to assist at least one underprivileged family. This can encompass educational expenses, nutrition, health costs and job opportunities.
