A heart-wrenching incident has surfaced from Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyala district where an eight-year-old girl was gang-raped by three of her seniors aged 12 and 13, who murdered her. According to the police officials, the minor accused have now been detained and have confessed that they had dumped the girl’s body in an irrigation canal.

Reportedly, the incident happened at Machumarri, which is almost 300 km away from Andhra’s capital Amaravati. However, the police have not recovered the body so far.

How did the incident get uncovered?

The incident came to light when the class 3 student went missing on Sunday and her father filed a missing complaint at the local police station. He informed the police that the minor was playing in Machumarri Park and did not return home. Following this the police started questioning the residents and launched a search operation.

Sniffer dog led to accused

A sniffer dog helped the police unearthed the case and took the police to the three minor accused, out of which two of them were from class 6 and one from class 7. They all were from the same school where the girl used to study.

During interrogation, the boys confessed to the crime and said that they took the girl to a dam and raped her. Worrying that the girl would tell her parents about the incident, they murdered and threw her boy in the nearby canal.

Meanwhile, the police officials said that they are still investigating the case as they have not found the body of the minor girl so far. Police have initiated the search operation based on the suspect’s confession.
