Police also arrested two drug traffickers.”Following this, a case has been lodged in connection with this.Previous arrests of drug smugglers in AssamOn September 25, the district police also arrested one person named Samsul Haque and seized nearly 47 boxes of heroin weighing 583.08 grams.Then on September 23, Assam police arrested a drug peddler, identified as Azad Uddin Barlaskar, and recovered a large quantity of contraband drugs from his possession in Carchar district, said the police.The estimated value of the seized contraband drugs was Rs 2 crore, they added.Cachar Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta said that based on a tip-off, a team of police from the Cachar district carried out an operation and intercepted a vehicle at Banskandi-Silchar road.
