Man threatens to kill Lawrence Bishnoi: A video featuring a threatening message directed at notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has gone viral, prompting police investigations. In the clip, an individual from Raebareli, who works in Mumbai, asserts, “Listen Lawrence Bishnoi... you have 2,000 shooters ready and I have also sent 5,000 shooters to Bombay. If something happens to Salman bhai, it will not be good Lawrence.”

Lawrence Bishnoi operates from jail for over a decade

Lawrence Bishnoi, despite spending over a decade behind bars, continues to lead a sprawling criminal empire, as detailed in a 128-page chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in March 2023. This document outlines ongoing proceedings under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) against Bishnoi and 15 accomplices, charting his transformation from a student political figure to one of India's most feared gangsters.

Bishnoi's longstanding feud with Salman Khan

The NIA's investigation revealed an alarming incident from 2021 involving murder suspect Mohammad Shahrukh, a Bishnoi associate. During a police operation in Delhi, authorities discovered Shahrukh’s connection to a high-stakes horse auction in Punjab’s Sangrur district, where bids soared to Rs 95 lakh from a local baba and Rs 90 lakh from a representative of actor Salman Khan. Following the baba's win, Shahrukh allegedly extorted Rs 1 crore from him, illustrating the Bishnoi gang's close scrutiny of Khan, driven by resentment over the actor's involvement in a 1998 blackbuck poaching case.

The Bishnoi gang has intensified its threats against Khan, with incidents including gunfire outside his residence in November 2023 and the recent assassination of his associate, NCP leader Baba Siddique, in October.

Bishnoi's expanding criminal web

Bishnoi's involvement in high-profile crimes has dominated headlines, notably the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022. Allegations have also surfaced claiming that the Indian government collaborates with Bishnoi's gang to spread terror in Canada, a claim the Indian government vehemently denies. Despite being imprisoned since 2014, Bishnoi reportedly oversees a vast network of 700 operatives, with 300 hailing from Punjab.
