The pot is also called a Desi cooler, because the water kept in it is naturally cold. However, most people believe that the water in a pot is not as cold as the water in the refrigerator and the pot also starts spoiling very quickly. 5 tips to keep the pot clean

1) It is very important to empty and clean the pot daily. If you do not clean it daily, bacteria can grow in it. When you clean it daily, bacteria can be prevented from growing.

2) Do not wash the matka with harsh soaps or chemical detergents. Since the matka is made of porous clay, the chemicals in the detergent can penetrate the pores which can contaminate the water.

3) Use a soft brush to clean the pot. You can use vinegar or baking soda solution to clean it.

4) After cleaning the matka, wash it 3 to 4 times with clean water before refilling it.

5) It is also very important to store the pot properly. Do not keep the earthen pot in direct sunlight, as this can cause the pot to burst. Therefore, always keep it in a cool place where there is air, so that the water in the stored pot remains cool.

Tricks to keep the water in the earthen pot cool

1) The clay of the pot is such that it cools the water naturally. Wrapping a wet cloth around the pot increases the process of cooling of water.

2) Washing the pot with salt water can also be beneficial. For this, mix salt in water and wash the pot with this water from both the outside and inside. By doing this, the water in the pot remains cool.
