A series of wall collapses due to heavy rainfall have claimed the lives of five individuals in Mainpuri. So far, two bodies have been recovered, and two survivors were rescued from the rubble.According to the sources, the wall, constructed in 1629 by the then king Indrajit, had stood for centuries but was severely weakened by the heavy rains that have battered Datia for the past 30 hours. Despite its historic significance, the continuous downpour rendered the structure vulnerable, leading to its collapse.Members of three families were buried under the rubble. Among the victims were 55-year-old Niranjan Vanskar, his wife Mamta, and their daughter Radha. Two of Niranjans sons, Suraj and Shivam, have been confirmed dead. In another family, Kishan and his wife Prabha are still trapped under the debris.
