New Delhi: Four Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were neutralized in an overnight encounter at Chinnigam Frisal in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Officials disclosed that the militants had established a concealed bunker inside an almirah at their hideout. In a video surfaced online, security officials can be seen inspecting what appears to be a small yet well-fortified concrete hideout concealed behind a wardrobe in a civilian residence.

Details of the encounter

Security forces engaged in two separate encounters in south Kashmir's Kulgam district resulted in six Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists being killed. The first encounter at Madergam led to the death of a soldier in action, followed by the second encounter at Chinigam in Kulgam, where four terrorists were eliminated, with another soldier martyred in the operation.

Identity of slain terrorists

The first encounter broke out in Madergam, where one of the soldiers was killed. In the second encounter in Chinigam in Kulgam, four terrorists were killed and the other Army soldier lost his life in action. Among those killed in Chinigam were identified as Yawar Bashir Dar, Zahid Ahmad Dar, Tawheed Ahmad Rather, and Shakeel ah Wani. The casualties in Madergam were Faisal and Adil.
