Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, a founding member of the BJP's forerunner, Bharatiya Jana Sangha, staunchly opposed Article 370. Modi invoked Mookerjee's legacy to connect the target of 370 seats with the historic abrogation of the constitutional provision which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Modi outlined a strategy for achieving the target, urging party members to ensure an additional 370 votes at each booth. Emphasizing the importance of staying focused amidst opposition tactics, Modi also encouraged leaders to educate voters about the government's achievements over the past decade.
In his inaugural address, Nadda expressed gratitude to Modi for the unprecedented growth of the BJP and urged members to mobilize for upcoming elections and ensure the return of the party for the third time.
"We must surpass 370 seats with unwavering determination," Nadda proclaimed amidst chants of "Modi, Modi" in the Bharat Mandapam auditorium. He highlighted the party's remarkable evolution under Modi's leadership, transitioning from a struggle to preserve deposits to becoming the world's largest political party.
