The tragic incident unfolded during a joint search operation conducted by security forces.

Fatal Clash near Tekalgudem Village

According to Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) P. Sundarraj, the deadly clash occurred near Tekalgudem village while a combined team of security personnel was on a search mission. The village is situated along the border of Bijapur and Sukma districts.

Injured Personnel Undergoing Treatment

The injured security personnel, fortunately, are now reported to be out of immediate danger and are receiving medical treatment in Raipur. The valiant forces faced the ambush during their mission, resulting in casualties and injuries.

Search Operation for Establishing Forward Operating Base

The joint team, comprised of the 201st battalion of the CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and the 150th battalion of the CRPF, was engaged in establishing a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in the region. FOBs serve as remote camps strategically positioned to support security forces operating in the core Naxal-affected areas.

Recalling the Grim 2021 Encounter

This unfortunate incident brings back memories of the grim encounter in 2021, where 22 jawans lost their lives during a fierce battle with Naxals along the Sukma-Bijapur border. The region remains a challenging terrain for security forces combating Naxal insurgency.

As the nation mourns the loss of these brave hearts, the incident underscores the ongoing struggle of security forces against Naxal threats, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and strategic operations in affected areas.
