27 Indian passengers who had stayed back in France seeking asylum after their flight from the UAE was grounded last week over suspicion of human trafficking before being allowed to take off for India have now been freed. The Indian passengers were bound for Nicaragua but a refuelling stopover at Vatry airport in northeastern France on December 21 resulted in the plane being grounded for four days after an anonymous tip-off.These 27 individuals were among the 303 passengers on the flight which released 276 passengers, the most of whom were Indian, that departed for Mumbai on Monday afternoon following four days of detention at the Chalons-Vatry airport near Paris, according to reports published by the local French media on Wednesday.According to the media reports, the local court had allowed their release on formal grounds.Apart from this, the previous batch of Indians who landed in Mumbai on Monday were interrogated by CISF, meanwhile, the case has been sent to Anti-human trafficking cell for further investigation.
