Unnao accident: PM Modi announces ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to kin of deceased

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath acknowledged the road accident in Unnao district and extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. The Chief Minister instructed officials to promptly arrive at the scene and accelerate relief efforts, as confirmed by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

New Delhi: PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to kin of deceased while Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured in the accident in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao which claimed 18 lives. 


A bus and a tanker collied in a tragic road accident in the Unnnao district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning. The collision was so severe that both the bus and the tanker were shattered into pieces. 18 people, including two women and a child, died in this accident and more than 30 have been injured.

According to the information, the sleeper bus which met with the accident was going from Shivgarh in Bihar to Delhi.

Police action in this matter

The police, who arrived on the scene, are currently engaged in relief work. The injured are being taken to the hospital.
