A devastating fire broke out early Saturday morning at a car workshop in Silokhra village, Sector 41, Gurugram, reducing 16 luxury vehicles to ashes. The blaze, which erupted around 3 am at the Berlin Motor workshop, has resulted in damages exceeding Rs. 10 crore.

The fire completely destroyed several high-end vehicles, including BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, Range Rovers, Volvos, Ford Eco Sports, Opel Astras, and Jaguars. Out of the 20 luxury cars present in the workshop, only five managed to escape the flames. The incident has caused significant losses for the workshop, given the high value of the vehicles involved.

Fire Department's Swift Response

The Gurugram fire department acted swiftly, dispatching 11 fire tenders from various stations, including Sector 29, Bhim Nagar, Udyog Vihar, Sector 37, and IMT Manesar. Despite their prompt response, the fire had already engulfed over half of the workshop by the time the teams arrived. It took firefighters nearly four hours, until 7 am, to bring the blaze under control.

Investigation Underway

Initial investigations suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the fire, which was exacerbated by the presence of combustible materials and oils within the workshop. However, authorities have stated that a thorough investigation is still ongoing to determine the exact cause and assess the full extent of the damage.

Fortunately, no employees were present at the time of the fire, avoiding any casualties. The incident has raised concerns about the safety protocols in place at such facilities, given the high potential for significant financial and material losses.
