Sources claim that 11 soldiers were killed in an explosion that was carried out by Naxals in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. The assault happened on Wednesday afternoon when the Naxals attacked a patrolling team on Aranpur Road. The DRG team was returning to headquarters when their car was hit by an IED planted on the route. The actual number of casualties from the explosion, which killed ten jawans as well as the driver, has not yet been confirmed by authorities. According to sources, there may be an increase in the death toll.

Sources claimed that in a letter last week, Naxals declared to target security forces. According to Chhattisgarh Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, the current incident in Dantewada was brought on by an IED explosion. He also mentioned that a rescue team had been sent to the region where it was heavily raining.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel sympathised with the victims’ families in response to news of the incident. He added that the battle against the Naxals was nearing its conclusion, and they would not be spared. “We know details about the situation, and they are really upsetting,” he said.
