A heart-wrenching incident took place in the Ganjam district of Odisha as two buses suffered a head-on collision under the Digapahandi police limit, killing around 10 people, and eight others were left injured, according to an official.

The incident occurred on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital immediately, an official said.
Speaking to the media, the District Magistrate of Ganjam, Dibya Jyoti Parida said that the injured were rushed to the MKCG Medical College for treatment.
Briefing about the tragic incident, the DM of Ganjam district told the media, “Two buses collided in which 10 people died. The injured were immediately admitted to MKCG Medical College for treatment. Investigation into the case is underway. We are trying to provide all possible help to the injured.”

Taking notes from the incident, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his grief and extended condolence to the deceased families. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh to the kin of deceased persons, the CMO said in an official statement.
