According to the information, Delhi police has shared the 2 FIRs registered against the chief of Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Along with this, 10 other complaints have also been shared by the department. Both the FIRs cite IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 34 (common intention) that carry a jail term for one to three years.
As per Delhi police these 10 complaints were registered against him on April 21, while the two FIRs got registered on April 28.
In these complaints, wrestlers have mentioned that the WFI chief made attempts to touch them inappropriately, molestation by touching them on the chest, moving hands on their belly, among others.
Reportedly, the FIRs were lodged under Sections 354, 354(a), 354(d) and 34, which account for a three-year jail term. Six Olympians make charges in the first FIR, while the father of a youngster makes allegations in the second FIR. The incidents stated purportedly occurred between 2012 and 2022 both in India and abroad.
