Nyay Sankalp Sabha: During a public address in Mumbai, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasised the deep-rooted values of love and respect within India's cultural fabric. Reflecting on his extensive Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Gandhi highlighted the prevailing sentiment of harmony and goodwill across the nation. Despite occasional instances of hate and violence spurred by systemic injustices, Gandhi asserted that love inherently defines India's DNA.

India's Legacy of Non-Violence

Gandhi underscored India's historic legacy of achieving independence through peaceful means, contrasting it with movements like the Civil Rights Movement in the US and South Africa's struggle for freedom, both inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's principles of love and non-violence.

Competing Ideologies

Highlighting two distinct ideologies, Gandhi juxtaposed the BJP-RSS approach of top-down imposition with Congress's grassroots engagement. While the former advocates centralised decision-making, the latter prioritises inclusive dialogue and participation. Gandhi stressed that the guarantees offered by Congress reflect the collective aspirations of the people, rather than unilateral directives.

Confidence in Congress and Constitutional Integrity

Expressing confidence in Congress's alignment with truth and the majority's sentiments, Gandhi dismissed fears of BJP-led constitutional amendments. He asserted that the BJP's divisive agenda would not find favour with the populace, preventing any alteration of India's constitution.

Rahul Gandhi affirmed, "BJP may have captured the media, but with us they will not be able to destroy the Constitution. Because India and truth are with us."

Earlier, a controversy stemmed from remarks made by Karnataka MP Anantkumar Hegde during a public rally, wherein he suggested the need for constitutional amendments. Hegde's assertion that certain provisions of the Constitution were aimed at suppressing Hindu society sparked widespread criticism.

Challenging the Status Quo

Critiquing the existing system, Gandhi lamented its bias towards a privileged minority, leaving the majority disenfranchised. He criticised the government's selective leniency towards wealthy individuals while denying essential support to farmers and workers. Gandhi cited examples such as the massive loan waivers for a few billionaires juxtaposed with reluctance to support schemes like MGNREGA, which benefit the marginalized.

Rahul Gandhi's remarks underscored the enduring values of love, respect, and inclusivity that define India's cultural ethos. By championing grassroots engagement and advocating for systemic change, Gandhi reaffirmed Congress's commitment to empowering all sections of society and upholding constitutional integrity.
