Arvind Kejriwal Arrest: Aam Aadmi Party's senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has strongly criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for its actions regarding the raid on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam case.

The sequence of events led to Kejriwal's subsequent arrest, which drew significant attention and criticism.

The Enforcement Directorate arrived at Arvind Kejriwal's residence in Delhi's Civil Lines around 7 pm, conducting a search and questioning session with the Chief Minister. During the raid, the probe agency confiscated Kejriwal's laptop and mobile phone, along with his wife's mobile phone, to examine for potential evidence. The ED meticulously recorded data from these devices as part of its investigation process.

Expressing his discontent, Raghav Chadha took to social media to voice concerns about what he termed a "Undeclared Emergency" targeting Arvind Kejriwal just before the Lok Sabha elections. Chadha emphasised Kejriwal's widespread support among the masses and asserted that the Chief Minister's ideas and ideology could not be subdued despite attempts to curtail his movements.

Similarly, AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi condemned the Enforcement Directorate's actions, adding to the chorus of criticism against the probe agency's handling of the situation.

The Delhi High Court's decision not to grant protection from arrest to Arvind Kejriwal marked a significant setback for the Chief Minister. However, the court instructed the ED to respond to Kejriwal's fresh petition and set a hearing date for April 22, indicating a legal battle on the horizon.

Arvind Kejriwal's decision to approach the Supreme Court for an urgent hearing reflects the intensifying legal battle surrounding the Delhi Excise Policy scam case, which continues to unfold with significant implications for the political landscape in Delhi and beyond.
