Amanatullah Khan, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and his son were arrested by Noida Police on Tuesday for assault and criminal intimidation. The latter attacked a gas station employee in Noida's Sector 95.
However, the AAP MLA denied the accusations, claiming that he had been unfairly singled out in what he described as ‘one-sided’ police activity. In the video two persons can be seen arguing as they get out of a car. One of them is seen pulling out a rod and pointing it, which initiated a fight.
It is also alleged that Khan’s son reached the petrol pump and threatened the employees.
According to Noida DCP Manish Kumar Mishra, the incident occurred at Shaheed Ramendra Pratap Filling Station on Tuesday at 9.30 am when Khan's son attempted to get around the line. Soon after getting the information, Noida Police reached the spot and registered a case and asserted that action will be taken against the culprits.
Later, in the video, Amanatulla Khan can be seen talking to the police officer. Based on complaint, the police have registered an FIR and have initiated an investigation in the case.
