This is not just for Ladakh
It's also to heal the trust deficit in India...
Today people don't trust each other, they don't even trust leaders or the election process of EVMs

The people of Ladakh have long been advocating for statehood and inclusion under the sixth schedule of the Constitution to safeguard their cultural and environmental interests. Despite recent talks between Ladakhi leaders and the central government, no significant progress has been made in meeting these demands.
Wangchuk highlighted the detrimental impact of neglecting Ladakh's issues on the morale of soldiers stationed in the region. He expressed concern that the lack of attention to Ladakh's demands could weaken the resolve of soldiers from renowned regiments such as the Ladakh Scouts, Sikh Regiment, and Gurkha Regiment.
Drawing attention to the disparity in media coverage, Wangchuk criticised the excessive focus on trivial matters while crucial issues like Ladakh's statehood struggle receive minimal attention. He urged the media to fulfill its role as the fourth pillar of democracy by amplifying the voices of marginalized regions like Ladakh.
In his impassioned plea, Wangchuk called upon citizens to share his message and demand accountability from mainstream media outlets. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about Ladakh's plight and urged the media to uphold its ethical responsibility in reporting on critical issues affecting the nation.
As Ladakh continues to grapple with its unmet demands for statehood and constitutional safeguards, Sonam Wangchuk's criticism of media apathy serves as a wake-up call to address the pressing issues faced by the region. It underscores the need for inclusive and comprehensive media coverage to ensure the voices of all citizens, especially those from marginalized communities, are heard and acted upon.
