Recently, a viral advertisement featuring a girl telling her father that "Modi ji stopped the war, Papa" caught the attention of the public. The meme quickly gained popularity, sparking discussions across various platforms.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed this viral ad during a recent interview with a media channel, shedding light on his government's stance on global conflicts, including the ongoing tensions in Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine.
During the interview, PM Modi revealed that he had sent a special envoy to Israel to persuade the government to halt bombings in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. He recounted, "It was Ramadan, and I sent my envoy to Israel to convey to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that there should be no bombing in Gaza during this sacred month. They made efforts to comply, but there were still conflicts for two-three days."
Responding to accusations of communal politics, PM Modi stated, "You accuse me of targeting Muslims, but I did not publicize this effort."
PM Modi also mentioned that other countries also intervened to persuade Israel to cease hostilities. He noted, "Other countries also made efforts, and I tried as well. I don't believe in symbolic secularism. Earlier, there was a trend that if one visits Israel, they must also visit Palestine to secularize the visit. I rejected that."
PM Modi recalled an incident when the President of Jordan insisted that Modi use his helicopter to visit Palestine via Jordanian airspace. He recounted, "The President of Jordan, a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, told me, 'Modi ji, you cannot go like this. You are my guest, and I will take you in my helicopter.'"
Reflecting on the incident, PM Modi remarked, "I had Jordanian helicopter, Palestinian airspace, and Israeli flight attendants. All three are different, but for Modi, they all came together in the sky. I believe that this happens when intentions are good."
