Farmers' Protest: In a bid to address the pressing concerns surrounding the ongoing farmer's protests, the Congress party has made a fervent appeal to the Central Government. Congress leaders have called for the immediate convening of a special session of Parliament to deliberate on the issues impacting farmers across the nation.

Allegations of Government's Excessive Force

At a press conference at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Kisan Congress President Sukhpal Singh Khaira launched a scathing attack on the Modi government. Khaira accused the government of resorting to draconian measures reminiscent of the infamous Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He highlighted the tragic death of a young protester, Shubhakaran Singh, and the injuries sustained by hundreds of farmers during the protests.

Questioning Official Narratives

Khaira raised doubts regarding the veracity of official statements issued by the Haryana government and the Modi administration. He denounced the dissemination of false information and alleged attempts to suppress the truth surrounding the farmer's plight. Despite overwhelming evidence, Khaira lamented the government's refusal to acknowledge the fatal shooting of Shubhakaran Singh and the injuries inflicted upon numerous other farmers.

Call for Accountability

Expressing solidarity with the aggrieved farmers, Khaira demanded accountability from both state and central authorities. He criticised the Haryana Police's use of tear gas and rubber bullets against peaceful protesters and accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of failing to take decisive action in the face of escalating tensions. Khaira urged the Modi government to initiate a comprehensive dialogue with farmers and address their demands for Minimum Support Price (MSP) and loan waivers.

Appeal for National Unity

Highlighting the widespread support for the farmers' movement, Khaira underscored the need for national unity in addressing the grievances of the agricultural community. He reiterated Congress's commitment to providing a legal guarantee of MSP to farmers and called for cross-party collaboration to find a sustainable solution to the ongoing crisis.

As tensions continue to mount, Congress's impassioned plea for a special parliamentary session reflects the urgency of the situation. With farmers' livelihoods hanging in the balance, swift and decisive action is imperative to ensure their welfare and address their legitimate concerns.
