Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to social media site X to greet individuals on the start of Navratri, a nine-day Hindu festival honoring the divine feminine. Modi posted, "Navratri ki shubhkamnayein. May this pious festival of 'Shakti-sadhana' inspire every life with courage, restraint and strength. Jai Mata Di!" He also posted a 'bhajan' by Pandit Jasraj, a devotional song in honor of the mother goddess.
In another post, the Prime Minister welcomed people on 'Nav Samvatsar', the Indian traditional new year. Modi tweeted, "Here's wishing everyone in the country on the onset of Nav Samvatsar. May this festive period bring new energy into the life of all of you, which shall also bring new vigor in the resolve of a developed India."
Modi also wished people observing other regional new year celebrations such as Ugadi, Cheti Chand, Sajibu Cheiraoba, Navreh, and Gudi Padwa. These festivals signify the start of the traditional new year in various regions of India.
