Delhi: Stager actor Uttam Mohanty, who generally worked in Odia cinema, lost his life on Thursday in Delhi. He was 66. The fabulous actor was admitted to Medanta Hospital and was being treated for liver cirrhosis.

BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda condoled the death of the fabulous actor.

Uttam Mohanty starred in over 130 flicks during his career, which gauged further than four decades.
He began his amusement career with Sadhu Meher's Abhimaan in 1977 and went on to star in successes like Danda Balunga and Kie Jite Kie Haare. The actor also appeared in around 30 Bengali flicks and featured in the Hindi film Naya Zaher. He was fete with the prestigious Jayadev Puraskar in 1999. In 2012, he entered the Odisha Living Legend Award and won the Odisha State Film Award multiple times for his donation to Odia cinema.
