"Bharat is proud": Modi's message of appreciation resonates with Indian community in UAE

India-UAE friendship was praised by PM Modi during a sizable diaspora gathering in Abu Dhabi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the long-standing friendship between India and the United Arab Emirates at a large-scale event for the Indian diaspora held at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Speaking to an enthusiastic audience at the 'Ahlan Modi' event, PM Modi conveyed his sincere gratitude to those in attendance who came from both the UAE and different states in India.

"You have scripted history by coming in such large numbers here. You may have come from different parts of the UAE and from different states of India, but everyone's hearts are connected," Modi said at the event that began with the national anthems of the two countries. "This is the time to hail the friendship between India and the UAE. In this historic stadium, every heartbeat echoes the same sentiment: Long live Bharat-UAE friendship," he added

Chants of 'Modi-Modi' reverberated around the stadium, signifying the spectators' common respect and adoration for the Indian Prime Minister. The occasion was clearly intense. "To the diaspora, I have carried the smell of the land where you were born and the message of 140 crore people, which is that Bharat is proud of you. I have come to visit my family members."

PM Modi on his UAE visit!

Around 3.5 million Indian nationals live in the UAE, making it the country's largest expat community. Prime Minister Modi also took some time to think back to his first official visit in 2015, remembering the hospitality and friendship shown to him by the Emirati leadership. The PM mentioned his first visit to the UAE in 2015. It was the first visit of an Indian PM to the UAE, after three decades. 

Prime Minister Modi recalled the cordial welcome he received from the then-Crown Prince, who is currently the President, and his five brothers. He also mentioned the warmth and shine in their eyes that welcomed him. India's national anthem reverberated through the arena prior to PM Modi's speech.

The highest civilan award to Modi! 

PM, while addressing the Indians at the event, mentioned that he was honoured with the UAE's highest civilian award, the Order of Zayed, and that this honour belongs to him along with the nation of 140 crore Indians.

The Modi Guarantee

PM Modi, in his speech, added that he is giving a guarantee that in his third term, India will become the third largest economy. Modi mentioned the goal of every Indian is to make India a developed country by 2047. He also added that more than 1.5 lakh Indian students are studying in UAE schools and how these institutions will be helpful in providing the best education to the Indian community in UAE.

UAE's Mandir Inauguration 

Earlier today, PM Modi began a visit to the United Arab Emirates with the aim of inaugurating the largest Hindu temple in the Middle East and fostering trade and investment ties. He added at the occasion, "Now the time has come to inaugurate this big (BAPS) temple. In 2015, I offered to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed the proposal to establish a temple in Abu Dhabi on behalf of all of you, and he quickly said yes to it."
