Lusail, Qatar’s crown jewel, was created totally from scratch. The concept of Lusail arose from a vision of a futuristic and sustainable metropolis that would pave the path for the nation’s urban growth. Lusail, Qatar’s first green city, is the country’s most significant development project ever undertaken.

Lusail’s building began in 2006, and the city has been growing ever since. The project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2022, is projected to be a game changer in the realm of urban development. The LREDC (Lusail Real Estate Development Company) is the main force behind the smart city project. They have gone to great lengths to ensure that every part of the city is constructed with sustainability and innovation in mind.

A futuristic green city

Lusail is around 22 kilometres north of Doha, on the coast, in the municipality of Al Daayeen. Lusail is projected to become the envy of cities all around the world, especially due to its spectacular waterfront views and cutting-edge infrastructure. Every feature, from the layout of the streets to the placement of buildings and public areas, has been meticulously examined in this planned city. Sustainability is at the heart of everything at Lusail. Green roofs, solar panels, and efficient water management systems are among the characteristics that help the city reduce its environmental effect.

Lusail City is an essential component of Qatar’s ambitious National Vision 2030. The city is expected to have a population of roughly 450,000 people when completed, with 200,000 residents, 170,000 employees, and over 80,000 visitors. The total cost of developing the vision is projected to be around $45 billion.

Lusail City was named the Best Mixed-Use Development at the International Property Awards in Arabia in October 2012 in appreciation of its creative design and imaginative concept. Lusail’s objective was to build a technologically superior, environmentally sustainable, modern city to set a new standard for countrywide urban living.

Other major features of the project

Lusail is a big commercial project in the Middle East that spans 38 square kilometres and has a spectacular waterfront site that reaches 28 kilometres. The city is meant to meet the requirements of individuals and communities while encouraging a modern and technologically sophisticated way of life. Individual and social needs are considered in the planning, with places built for work, leisure, pleasure, and communal interaction.

The city is organised into 19 mixed-use districts, including leisure, commerce, and residence places. The proposal calls for 25,000 residential buildings, ranging from high to low-rise, to be scattered throughout 19 districts, as well as four Qetaifan islands and a blue lagoon with two marinas.

Lusail has various appealing luxury sites, including Crescent Park, the Marina Food Arena, the Lusail Promenade, and the Place Vendome, the city’s primary luxury and entertainment destination.

Lusail Stadium

When Qatar was chosen to host the World Cup 2022 games, Lusail’s iconic stadium was built with 80,000 seats, making it one of the world’s largest and most impressive stadiums. Lusail Stadium, with its innovative construction and world-class amenities, promises to be a truly unique and spectacular venue for the event.
