Sudarsan Pattnaik's Lord Jagannath sculpture celebrates blooming ‘New Year’

Internationally acclaimed Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a magnificent sand sculpture to usher in 2024. On the occasion of New Year, the renowned sand artist has created a 25 ft high sand sculpture of Mahaprabhu Jagannath at Blue Flag Beach in Puri.

Sudarsan Pattnaik creates another magnificent sand sculpture

Crafted on a beach in Odisha’s Puri, the huge artwork incorporates colourful flowers like marigolds and roses. It features intricate details including the Odia word "Nakachana", along with "Hridaya Padak" and "Kara Pallab." Pattnaik also inscribed "Jay Jagannath" on the sculpture.

The piece has drawn large crowds who gathered in the pilgrimage city to ring in the new year.

Largest sand Santa Claus

Pattnaik, a Padma Shri recipient, recently set a world record for the largest Santa Claus sand sculpture. Created on December 24, the 40ft high, 100ft long, 20ft wide sculpture made of sand and two tonnes of onions was certified by World Records India.

It took Pattnaik and 32 students eight days to complete the Christmas-themed artwork that also attracted huge crowds.

The talented artist is renowned globally for his stunning sand tributes and holds multiple records. His latest dazzling piece promises to be a star attraction as India welcomes 2024.
