The capital of Austria is known as the “city of dreams,” and it appears that living there may be nothing short of a dream. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has officially published its list of the worlds most liveable cities for 2023, and Vienna has once again taken the top spot. According to the report, Vienna has topped the list for the second consecutive term, excelling in all the categories.The research evaluated 173 cities worldwide based on stability, infrastructure, ecology, health care, and education, among other important considerations. According to the organisation, the average global index score has risen to a 15-year high, with a return to order after Covid-19 and improvements made by developing countries.On the EIUs Global Liveability Index, Vienna continued to rank top, earning acclamation for its dependable infrastructure, exceptional culture and entertainment, and high-rate educational and healthcare offerings. The city, which has often held the top spot throughout the years, was carefully monitored. On the other hand, living conditions remain worst in Syria. Melbourne and Sydney, both in Australia, are rated third and fourth on the list.Three cities in Canada, including Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto, are among the top 10. Zurich, which ranks sixth in the liveability index, and Geneva, which shares seventh place with Calgary, are both Swiss cities. On the other hand, Japans Osaka has claimed the tenth spot.The highest-placing US entry was Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii, which took 25th overall. Stockholm, Sweden, and London, United Kingdom, both lost 12 and 22 ranks, to 46th and 43rd, respectively.Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Chennai, all from India, are slightly outside the top 60.
