Lifestyle News. In India, the beginning of the day is considered incomplete without tea or coffee. Most people feel refreshed in the morning with home-made tea or coffee. These home-made beverages can be beneficial for the body in limited quantities. But when these beverages are prepared in an unhealthy way, they can cause danger to health. In today's busy life, people are not able to carry beverages from home in a hurry to reach the office. In such a situation, they take the help of the office coffee machine. But a recently published study has raised concerns about the coffee of the office machine. This research has been published in a journal named "Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Disease".
According to the study, compounds like cafestol and kahweol have been found in machine-made coffee, which can increase the level of LDL (bad cholesterol) in the body. This fact came to light during the examination of 14 machines in four different offices in Sweden.
The effect of these compounds becomes more dangerous when the coffee is not filtered properly. This can increase problems like heart disease, high blood pressure and heart attack. Therefore, especially those people who already have heart related problems should avoid coffee from office machines.
The researchers studied three types of coffee machines — metal filter machines, liquid-concentrate machines, and instant (freeze-dried) coffee machines. The greatest harm was found in coffee made from machines that do not use filters.
Experts believe that people who are less physically active are at the highest risk. In such a situation, it would be better if instead of drinking machine coffee in the office, you bring paper filter coffee from home or adopt some other healthy option like green tea or herbal tea. From the health point of view, coffee made from office machine may be an easy option, but the danger hidden behind it cannot be ignored. Be alert in time and choose smart options.
