The CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, Jens Ritter recently took the role of an “additional cabin crew” while flying from Frankfurt (Germany) to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) in an attempt to gather better information and insights about the challenges faced by the flight attendants as well as to address the needs of passengers.

Ritter posted the images on his LinkedIn profile which show him serving the flying passengers and posing with the flight cabin crew.

In his post, Ritter emphasised on the importance of changing perspectives to gain better judgment and insight for a smooth operation of the cabin crew. His post stated “Sometimes, you need to change perspectives in order to gain new insights. This week, I accompanied our Lufthansa Airlines flight crew heading to Riyadh and Bahrain as an ‘additional crew member’. What a ride!”

Ritter posts his cabin crew experience

Despite being in service for the Lufthansa Airlines for many years this was Ritter’s unique and first experience as a part of the cabin crew.

He considered this experience to be interesting and challenging according to his post which stated, “I have been working for the Lufthansa Group for many years. But I have never had the opportunity to work as part of the cabin crew. And honestly, that was so interesting and also challenging.”

The level of organisation and preparation that is required before each flight impressed the CEO, especially the need to be vigilant and attentive during unexpected situations. He particularly noted the discrepancy between the meals listed on the menu cards and the meals actually loaded on board. Assuring passengers that the issue would be resolved, he promised in the comments section, “We will have this fixed.”

Jens Ritter’s remark on team

The CEO highly praised the flight crew while mentioning the warm welcome he received from the team. He assisted in the business class while flying from Riyadh and later took care of the passengers in the economy class during the return flight to Frankfurt at night.

He commented on how fun the experience was and how he enjoyed every moment he experienced as well as how much he learned in such a short period. He concluded his post by expressing his gratitude to the crew, guests, and everyone involved in making this worthwhile and eye-opening experience possible for him.
