Lifestyle: A shocking report has come out for countries with large population like India, China and America. According to this report, the problem of obesity can increase even more in these countries in the coming 5 years. The most surprising thing is that about 45 crore people of India can be affected by this disease. Do you know that this crisis is not limited to India only, but many countries around the world are at risk of getting affected by it?

What does the new report say?

A report recently released by The Lancet has raised serious concerns over the growing threat of obesity worldwide. According to the report, by 2050, the number of obese or overweight people above 25 years of age in India can reach 45 crores. This number can be much higher than countries like China and America. In China, this number is estimated to reach 627 million, while in America 214 million people can become victims of obesity.

People at risk of obesity

The number of obese and overweight people is constantly increasing around the world. According to the data till 2021, about 2.11 billion youth were found to be obese or overweight. Of these, 1 billion were men and 1.11 billion were women. This figure is especially worrying for countries like India, China and America, because the risk of obesity is highest in these countries.

Fast food: The biggest cause of obesity

This report also states that obesity is spreading rapidly due to the increasing consumption of fast food and ultra-processed foods. The sale of these things is continuously increasing in India, China and America. Along with India, countries like Cameroon and Vietnam have seen a huge increase in the sale of fast food and drinks between 2009 and 2019. This is the reason why people here are becoming victims of obesity.

What could be its consequences?

If this problem is not addressed in time, obesity can become a serious problem in the future. Due to obesity, people can fall prey to diseases like heart attack, diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. This will not only put pressure on the health services of these countries, but will also lead to a global health crisis.

What can be done?

To deal with the problem of obesity, people will have to improve their eating habits. There is a need to avoid fast food and junk food and adopt a healthy and balanced diet. Apart from this, it is also important to engage in physical activity regularly. Governments also need to work seriously on this issue, so that this crisis can be avoided in the future.

This report is just a warning that if we still do not change our lifestyle, then obesity and related diseases can become a big crisis in the future. India, America, China and other countries will have to pay serious attention to this, so that we can move towards a healthy society in the coming decades.
