Google Doodle celebrates India’s 77th Independence Day with intriguing textile crafts blend

India is celebrating its 77th Independence Day today (on Tuesday) and to celebrate it more widely and united Goggle Doodle is up with an innovative illustration of various textile crafts traditions from across the nation, whether from states or Union territories.

Apart from this eye-catching and intriguing cultural blend, Google also briefed the audience on an overview of the significance of the historic day of India as well as the artist behind this impressive illustration.

Google Doodle on Independence Day

Before wishing a ‘Happy Independence Day’ to the country, the tech giant said, “Today’s Doodle celebrates India’s Independence Day and is illustrated by New Delhi-based guest artist Namrata Kumar. On this day in 1947, a new era dawned as India became independent from British rule.”

Further, Kumar talked about the inspiration behind the style of Doodle, saying that she wanted to represent the different geographical regions of the country in a balanced way. “Throughout the creative process, the overarching goal was to honour and celebrate India’s textiles and their profound connection to the nation’s identity…” she said.

The description also presented the names of the craft forms and the region they belong to.
