Mumbai idol decorated with gold and silver

In Mumbai, the Gowd Saraswat Brahman (GSB) Seva Mandal has taken grandeur to another level. For Ganesh Chaturthi, they have unveiled a majestic idol of Lord Ganesha, adorned with a staggering 69 kilograms of gold and a dazzling 336 kilograms of silver.
According to media reports, this GSB Seva Mandal received an additional 36 kgs of silver and a 250-gram gold pendant as donations. For the safety of visitors and their offerings, the Mandal has taken out an insurance of Rs 360.45 crore. This includes provisions for visitors, jewellery, and public liability.

Woman from Surat made Ganesh idol with soap

Aditi Mittal, a woman artist from Gujarat’s Surat carved out an eco-friendly idol of Lord Ganesha using soap. She had been making such idols for the last six years and she has used a total of 2,655 kg of soap in making of this idol.

Chennai’s Kolathur’s 42-ft Ganesha made up of peepal leaves

A 42-feet tall idol of Lord Ganesh made with peepal leaves was placed in the Kolathur area. The idol which shows Lord Ganesh in a seated position is designed with 30 thousand Kubera Vilakku.

Bangaluru Ganesh temple decorated with coins worth ₹ 65 lakh

Sri Sathya Ganapathy temple in Bengaluru’s JP Nagar has decorated its entire premises with coins worth ₹ 65 lakh and currency notes worth crores of rupees.
Ganesh Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi and Ganeshotsav. This marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, who is often considered as the god of wisdom, prosperity and beginnings. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi festival is being celebrated from today, September 19.
However, apart from Maharashtra, this Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Telangana.
