Navratri is one of the biggest festivals that is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by people from different parts of the country. This nine-day long festival delves everyone into chanting, dancing, and praying to Goddess Durga.

 Many people across the country keep a fast during Navratri. Everyone has a different approach towards fasting during these days. Some people fast to relish the delicious meals prepared during the festival while some have a religious reason attached to it. It is also a great way to detoxify your body as it helps flush out harmful toxins from the body. But due to fasting many people start feeling tired and lethargic. Fasting, however, is a great way to detox the body, cut out unwanted calories and enhance digestion. So, here are few tips to keep in mind while fasting for Navratri. 

Eat healthy foods 

During the fast, eat such foods which provide energy and nutrients to your body. Therefore, one should always eat healthy foods during the fast. You can eat seasonal fruits in this. Fruits contain many types of nutrients which help in keeping you active and energetic throughout the day. Along with this, you can eat two glasses of milk or milk products. Dry fruits, fruits, kheer etc. can also be a better option. Apart from this, drinking sweet or salty lassi and coconut water is also a good option.

Don't stay hungry for long time

Staying on an empty stomach for a long time is also not good for you. Staying on an empty stomach for a long time can cause problems like weakness, fatigue and headache. Therefore, you can eat fasting food or fruits after a gap of one or two hours.

Do hydrate yourself 

When you fast, you should take full care of the hydration of your body. Especially in this season, when the temperature is increasing, you should keep consuming plenty of water and fluids.

If you are undergoing any kind of treatment then you should definitely consult a doctor before fasting. Especially the patients with blood pressure and diabetes, along with this, if pregnant women want to keep fast, then they should also consult their doctor before keeping the fast.
