According to a senior official, the Delhi University is set to initiate the admission process for undergraduate programs through the Common Seat Allocation System by the end of this month. Additionally, the university will introduce two separate portals for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

As per a senior university official, the CBSE announced the Class 12 results on Friday, with 87.33 percent of students passing the exam. The official also mentioned that the university is preparing to launch its admission procedure, and it is likely to commence by the end of this month. Additionally, the official stated that the admission process for the CUET UG (Common Entrance Test for Undergraduate programs) will also begin later this month.

The Delhi University will conduct admissions for undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the CSAS (UG) 2023 and CSAS (PG) 2023 systems. To be eligible for admission, students will need to appear for CUET (UG)-2023 and CUET (PG)-2023, in addition to registering on the CSAS UG and PG portal of the university. The university officials expressed optimism that the admission process this year would be more streamlined and efficient.

“We have made all the necessary arrangements to facilitate admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the CUET. We will introduce two distinct portals for admissions to graduate and postgraduate programs,” the official stated. This marks the university’s inaugural implementation of the Common University Entrance Test for postgraduate program admissions. Last year, it utilised CUET-UG for admissions to its 70 affiliated colleges.

“Last year marked the first implementation of the CUET for admissions, and we successfully conducted the process. This year, we anticipate an even smoother admission process. Additionally, we are fully prepared to administer postgraduate admissions for the first time. We have full confidence in our ability to handle this new endeavour,” the official emphasised.

Delhi University has received the highest number of applications for CUET(UG), followed by Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, and Jamia Millia Islamia. The exam is set to take place from May 21 to 31. Despite its best efforts, the university has been unable to fill all 70,000 seats in the current academic session, as seven percent of the seats across its colleges remain vacant.
