A bizarre theft incident has been reported from Bengaluru, where a newly installed bus stand worth Rs 10 lakh was stolen by thieves on Thursday. The police have filed a case regarding the theft of a bus shelter, along with its steel structure on Cunningham Road in the Silicon City of India.The bus shelter managed by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) vanished a month ago, following which N Ravi Reddy, an associate vice-president of a company responsible for construction of the shelter filed a complaint on September 30.This is not the first time that the tech city has experienced such a robbery. Earlier in the month of March a bus stand at Kalyan Nagar, donated by the Lions Club in 1990 disappeared overnight. As per media reports, it was removed to make way for a commercial establishment.The BMTC however claims that if the bus shelter was removed then it was done by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
