Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has shown his sincere appreciation to the United States for its constant support and military assistance. After a pivotal meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump, Zelensky recognized America's help in Ukraine's relentless fight against Russian aggression.

"We are really thankful for all the support from America. I am sending my sincerest gratitude to President Trump, Congress, and the American nation. For the last three years, during the invasion of Russia, Ukrainians have deeply cherished this help," Zelensky said.

Trump's comments spark reactions

In a media report, Zelensky made the statement against Trump amid accusations of not thanking Ukraine for the U.S. military aid. Trump is said to have informed Zelensky in a White House meeting that he should be more grateful because "you don't have any cards to play. With us, you have cards, but without us, you have nothing."

Even with Trump's words, Zelensky was diplomatic, pointing to the essential support of the United States in the survival of Ukraine. "American assistance has been vital for our survival, and I want to express my sincere appreciation," he declared.

Strategic partnership between US and Ukraine

Responding to questions regarding U.S.-Ukraine relations, Zelensky said, "In spite of tough talks, we are strategic partners. But we need to be honest and frank with each other in order to fully realize our common goals."

He also went on to say, "President Trump's endorsement is very crucial for us. He desires ending the war, but nobody wants peace as much as we do. We are the people going through this war in Ukraine. This is our battle of freedom and survival."

Zelensky's strong words on Russia

Standing firm against Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelensky declared, "When people talk about losses, every life counts. Russia came into our homes, killed our citizens, and tried to destroy us. This is not about territories or numbers—it is about human lives. This is the message we must make clear to all."

The tense conversation between Trump and Zelensky has been a cause for concern regarding the future of American aid to Kyiv. But Zelensky brushed aside these concerns, saying, "I want the U.S. to stand firmly with us. This is not just a war between our two nations—Russia has brought this war to our land, to our homes. They are wrong because they have violated our territorial integrity."

Zelensky stresses stronger US-Ukraine relations

In the meeting, Trump allegedly brushed aside Zelensky's words by telling him he was "not in the right place to speak." But Zelensky kept his cool and repeated his thanks. "The American people have saved our people. Humanity and human rights come first. We are extremely grateful. We only desire a stronger relationship with the U.S., and I hope we can keep that bond."
