The deadline for the North Gaza residents to move south of the Strip is over. The Israeli Defence Force is now waiting for the green signal from the political body to start the long-awaited ground offence in North Gaza against Hamas. Meanwhile, sirens were heard in northern Israel and as Lebanon launched rockets towards Israel.

Lebanon strikes Israel

The Israel War Room took to ‘X’ to inform about the assault and said that the Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades had claimed responsibility for the attack on Israel’s northern border. The post read “Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades also just claimed responsibility for launching rockets at northern Israel from Lebanon.”

Moreover, The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) said that 9 rockets were launched at Israel from southern Lebanon on Sunday out of which 5 were intercepted by the iron dome.

An ‘X’ post launched by IDF says that the military force is currently striking the launch site in Lebanon.

IDF asks Gaza residents to evacuate

Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have given a time period of three hours to move from North Gaza to the southern part of the territory on Sunday, saying that a safe corridor will be open during this time. In a post on X, the IDF said they will not launch any operation on this corridor from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Residents of Gaza City and northern Gaza, in the past days, we’ve urged you to relocate to the southern area for your safety. We want to inform you that the IDF will not carry out any operations along this route from 10 pm to 1 pm,” the Israeli military said.
